Lampshade Serenade

Why do you look back at my life
And look at me so scared.
Oh dont you want to die,
Are you terrified of believable fear?
Because now I know that I am going to take us home
And Im not gonna fight even if theyre standing alone.

Chorus:
You drowned me in,
You lead me astray.

And all these metaphors that I show you can only tell you
That I dont care.
And all that I want to be is someone who is there.
For all the inequity and banishment and exile,
And all that I wanted was to stand there with you all the while.
Now the bell tower has rung and I feel cold,
And my skin grows pale and my bones grow old,
For its the final minute, the final hour,
And all that I can think about is whats to come.

Black Olives

You told me I was going to be a star,
And I didnt appreciate that
For now its time,
And I must go away from you
Because you left that taste in my mouth like black olives often do.

When you came over to my house,
And returned all my things which I had given to you.
And I dont understand why you would e-mail me,
Because black olives arent my cup of tea.

Now and then I start to get thinking about what we had,
But you said I had given up a long time ago.
But that wasnt right and I dont want to fight no more,
Because black olives I dont like,
Im going to shove you out the door.

Samuel Beckett's Breakdown

Mr. Hackett turned the corner and saw, in the failing light, his seat. It
seemed to be occupied. This seat, the property very likely of the public.
Lets get funky.

Halting, he looked at the seat with greater care. Yes, it wasnt vacant.
Mr. Hackett saw things a little more clear. His walk was little bit more
wabbly for his seat was not there.

Mr. Hackett was left standing there. But thats ok. Because when you hear
music youve got to move your feet, cause dancing cant be beat.
